Course description: The aim of this lecture is to study the macroeconomic determinants of growth and convergence as well as the microeconomic foundations of growth and saving. The course concerns theoretical foundations of growth and also the empirical processes and trends that prove or undermine theories. The sphere of empirical analysis is international with a stronger weight given to the problems of growth and convergence in the economies of European Union as well as in Central and Eastern Europe.
